Jobless to receive a £100m boost back into work

Over the next three years the government has committed to injecting £100 million into training those currently looking for work.

Those looking for construction sales jobs might be interested to know this money has been dovetailed both to developing skills used in previous jobs and in retraining those looking for a change in career.

It will be supplied by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (Dius) and the European Social Fund and will focus on sectors which are undergoing difficulties, such as the construction industry.

According to work and pensions secretary James Purnell, the money will help those most in need of increasing their employability by ensuring "they are in the best position possible" when looking for construction sales jobs.

"The clear message I want to send to people is that there is help is out there if the worst happens and they find themselves unemployed," he says.
