Technology sector 'holds some of the hottest graduate sales vacancies'
Technology jobs such as mechanical engineering vacancies are among the hottest sectors for graduate candidates, new research suggests.
A survey by Talent Q has found that 45 per cent of employers admit that they have changed what they are looking for in people applying for sales jobs since the onset of the recession, Onrec.com reports.
More than half of organisations in the information technology and communications sector stated that they would be investing in more talent management activities such as graduate sales job recruitment.
Dr Alan Bourne, director of Talent Q, claims that it is utilities and technology firms that are offering university leavers the most potential.
He states: "Over half of respondents within these sectors have stated that they are committed to identifying high performing individuals, despite the external environment."
Recently, chairman of The Recruitment Society Steve Huxham claimed that there are still sales jobs available despite the economic downturn, as many vacancies have different requirements than those the job market can easily fill.
