Thousands of Northamptonshire sales recruitment jobs to be created
Up to 8,000 roles could be created in Northamptonshire, including sales jobs and engineering sales jobs, over the next 12 years.
Almost 20 new businesses have been proposed across numerous sites in the Corby area which could include a high-performance engineering and motorsport development at the Rockingham Motor Speedway.
Other sites across the region include Centrix Park, land between Wheatley Road and Station Road, which could be used for residential property, and Willowbrook North Industrial estate, which could be used for a car storage centre.
Office based firms offering sales jobs could also move to developed units, with a new railway station at Corby making the area more accessible.
Terry Begley, principal planner for Corby Council, told the Evening Telegraph that the sheer number of sites identified will encourage more investors to the project.
He added: "We want to build on the manufacturing and distribution businesses but the aspiration is also to create diversity in the economy and attract other business sectors."

The proposals come as up to 100 members of staff at Barclaycard in Northampton could be made redundant.
Barclaycard is one of the town's key employers but is planning the changes to help improve the services it offers to customers.
